Giro Empire SLX was £274, now £129

The Giro Empire SLX’s have long been a favourite of the Cycling Weekly office. They’ve got a great, slim fit which hugs the foot nicely. The EC90 sole is stiffness to mark these shoes out as bonafide racing slippers, but they come with a touch of comfort, and we’ve had no problem riding these on long days.
The leather outer not only looks good, but comes with the added benefit of being wipe clean, and the laces given a really nice even fit.

Castelli Core Mesh 3 base layer was £39, now £23
Here at Cycling Weekly we advocate wearing a base layer regardless of the weather. In the summer, we find they can make wearing jerseys far more comfortable and can, in fact, help wick sweat away from your body, whereas if you just wear a jersey your sweat tends to just sit.
This mesh base layer from Castelli is clearly designed to be cool, suiting temperatures from 15 degrees through to 25 degrees. Currently all sizes remain available.
Castelli Squadra Er jacket was £45, now £33
Spring’s on the horizon, but so are the April showers. To combat the rain, you need something small enough to stuff down into a rear pocket, but waterproof enough to protect you from the elements. Enter the Castelli Squadra jacket.
Both the black and white versions are available in all the sizes, but the flouro yellow version is selling fast.

Sportful Strato R&D top was £120, now £84
Read more: Sportful Strato R&D
The Sportful Strato R&D is an innovative, two tiered piece of winter kit. It’s a thermal jersey and a gilet in one, and it really works. We’ve tested the Strato R&D, and we liked it so much we awarded it our Editor’s Choice award.
In particular, we liked its simplicity, it soft inner fleece and its high neck. The Chest is sufficiently windproof to leave us feeling snug while the thinner arms allow any excess heat to escape. If you’re looking for a decent spring jacket, or even forward thinking to next year, this would be a great addition to the wardrobe.

Mavic Kysrium Haute Route tubular wheels were £1900, now £899
We’ve been so impressed by Mavic’s range in the past that we’ve rewarded both the Mavic Kysrium Elite‘s our Editor’s Choice award. These carbon tubular wheels sit a little higher in the French brand’s range than the Kysrium Elites, and you get the stiffness benefits of a carbon wheel.
Being a Haute Route limited edition, Mavic has also made the wheels as light as they can, with these models coming in at a claimed 1.19kg for the pair.
Oakley Jawbreaker sunglasses were £174, now for £99

Grab yourself a bargain on these super sunglasses and get yourself that Mark Cavendish look. Here at CW we love the Jawbreakers. They’re well built and the plastic frames don’t feel cheap, while the lenses are exceptional and give a superb field of view.
We particularly like how built up around the outside edges they are, with rubber edging keeping the worst of the wind out.

Castelli Gabba 3 short sleeve jersey was £150, now from £88
The Castelli Gabba 3 is one of the best wet weather jerseys on the market. It’s built with Gore Windstopper fabric which makes the body of it very windproof. It’s also rain resistant, and if you pair it with arm warmers it’ll keep you warm all ride long.
If you would rather have a long sleeve option, then the men’s Castelli Perfetto convertible jacket for just £100 at Tweeks Cycles – check it out here
Castelli women’s Perfetto long sleeve jersey was £174, now £96
Read more: Castelli Perfetto review
We’ve tested the men’s Castelli Perfetto jersey and it was mega. It’s really windproof thanks to its Gore Windstopper X-Lite fabric, and it very rain resistant.
In fact, we’ve ridden this in heavy rain and never felt the need to put on an actual rain jacket, the water simply beaded off it.
